We are raising 10 Lakhs to train 100 women in tailoring and embroidery. The training will be provided by Hand in Hand, one of India’s largest and most respected NGOs that has trained more than 150,000 women so far. Once the women are trained, we will place them in regional companies for employment. This is the key Employment initiative in our 4 Pillar Approach for Pandemic Relief. We wish to skill and empower villagers to lift their own families out of poverty. We believe this is the most sustainable and meaningful solution for rural communities in India that have been badly affected by the economic slowdown and migrant crisis. Please watch our video for more details.
The funds we raise will be used to purchase tailoring machinery and set up a tailoring unit in Thekkur village. They will also be used to pay for tailoring and embroidery instructors and raw materials such as threads, fabrics and needles for the 100 women we train.
Please watch our video for more details about our philosophy and work.
